Holland, Oregon History
by Roger Ramsey

Holland was founded by Jim Holland. The first post office was established on April 6, 1899 by John M. Smock.

In the early 1900's, Holland was known for their Round Up which included a parade, rodeo and barbecue.

Once bustling and offering supplies for miners in the Illinois Valley, all its town buildings are now gone. Only two cemeteries and scattered homesteads remain.
